Ian Fleming gave birth to a brave character in his novel 'James Bond' and Sean injected life to that. Dr. No was the 1st piece of Fleming's creations that came
into action starring the superstar.

Fleming's readers now graduated to Sean's viewers and that was really a big leap. Sean portrayed a more graceful and polished James Bond than that in the original novel in order to fit the screen and hit the audience.

Connery was just the right choice of the producers Harry Saltzman and Albert Broccoli. With all his grit and grace he was accepted throughout the world with great warmth.

The Story
James Bond was appointed by M (Bernard Lee) on the disappearance of his colleague, a British agent assigned to Jamaica. He was sent to the Caribbean to
frame the matter out. He is readily greeted with a murder attempt, which made his hunt more aggressive. CIA spy, Felix Leiter (Jack Lord) then helps him with
his task.

A boatman, Quarrel (John Kitzmiller) assists Bond all his way to the Crab Key Island. This island was being denned by the inscrutable Dr. No (Joseph
Wiseman). It is this Crab Key Island only where James meets a meagerly dressed woman, Honey Ryder (Ursula Andress) with whom he later raids Dr. No's den. It was
a killer island, which spared not a single one of its visitors.

Bad Bond Techniques
Though Sean was as suave as ever, the film was technically not at all sound. But it's again Bond who overcomes all this with his own skills. In a scene, Bond had to breath submerged using a hollow grass-stem, which proved to be really non-glamorous for this urbane hero. Again, in Dr. No, Bond has been severely beaten and tousled, which, however never made any hindrance to defeat his enemy and get the girl.

The Bond Girl
James Bond is a real diplomat with a bland disposition and Sean is the perfect counterpart on the screen. He had all the essence of the character in a
rather concentrated form. Sean's co-actors were also quite good although perfection was lacking in some cases. The Bond girl Ursula Andress was quite hot with her glam flame flickering till date.

Lastly, it can be said that Dr. No was the potent embryo of the later James Bond blockbusters where the deficiencies had been made up with much ingenuity.
