Dragonheart
Sean Connery provided the voice of the dragon, Draco, in this medieval tale. His strong voice was really well suited for this part. His voice is so soft and smooth that the kind and good nature of the dragon comes through from the first words. Through this film, Connery shows that he is well able to adapt to any kind of role and can play the starring role in children's movies as well as that of thrillers, such as the James Bond movies.
Power of Voice
No one pays much attention to the voices of characters such as Draco, but in this movie as soon as the dragon speaks, anyone that is familiar with Sean Connery knows exactly who it is. He has a distinctive voice that is made more prominent by his fine-tuned Scottish accent. As a dragon, this seemed to be really fitting because of the ancient legends associated with Scotland.
Strength of Character
The character of Draco seems very like the image that Sean Connery seems to portray in all his movies. He is like a father figure to the dragonslayer giving advice here, prodding there, yet staying steadfast and strong all the time. This is the image that Connery seems to portray in all his films – he is one that never seems to get rattled and is always up to whatever challenges come his way. In this movie he doesn't give away his secrets and keeps the viewers guessing until the bitter end. According to movie goers, Sean Connery is the best actor that could ever have been chosen to speak these lines. |
