As always, Connery gives a masterful performance and the chemistry between him and Catherine Zeta-Jones really made the movie the success that it was. Even though he plays the part of being reluctant to take on Jones, as Zeta, as his partner, he is really able to pull it off. However, his ease with which he seems to agree and fall into her trap seems a little too obvious and contrived, which is not what Sean Connery fans expect of him in a starring role. Even though the reasons become clear later in the movie, the damage is already done.

Poor Dialogue
Some of the dialogue is poorly written in Entrapment, but Connery is able to overcome this and not make it noticeable to the viewers through his phrasing and the emphasis he places on the words, as well as by using his famous facial expressions to convey his feelings. While Connery does give an outstanding performance in this movie, somehow he doesn't seem right for the part. As he is almost 70, it seems that he is a bit too old for a romantic attachment for a younger leading lady.Uninspiring Part

Many Sean Connery fans feel that the role was uninspiring for such an impressive actor. They feel that he should have refused the part, but it does show that this actor is able to take on any part in a movie and make it work to its full advantage.
