First Knight
In the role of King Arthur, Sean Connery is the perfect choice for this part in the movie First Knight . It is too bad that the movie is almost half over before he makes his first appearance, but for Sean Connery fans it is the anticipation of seeing him that keeps fans riveted to the screen. However, it does seem as if Connery is a bit old for the part playing the lover of a much younger Julia Osmond as Quinevere.
True Professional
In his role as King Arthur, Connery is as witty and dashing as ever. As the leading man of the movie, he totally immerses himself in the role. You know exactly what the character is feeling just by the look on his face and he doesn't have to say very many words to convey the message to the audience. This is the trademark of an experienced actor and Connery knows exactly how to do it perfectly every time.
Friendly and Personable
When playing the role of King Arthur, Connery does seem to be more at ease than in other films. The film was shot in England and since Sean Connery is from Scotland, he considered that he was home. He actually spent 18 months in Great Britain during this time and enjoyed being able to chat with the locals. This is something that he couldn't do in Spain because he couldn't speak the language. He is not one of these people that moves into a place and doesn't want to associate with the people. He is down to earth and likes to get out and about.
